Cannon Golf Club

This course is picturesque, well-maintained, and beautiful! The fairways are beautifully manicured and the greens are plush. I love the look of this course! This was my first time playing Cannon Golf Club and I loved almost every bit of it. The downside was the pace. The pace was soooo slow that I gave up by the 13th hole. Because of the very slow pace, I got out of my rhythm and had to warm up before each hit. Now I know I have to take into consideration that this is Minnesota and every golfer wants to take advantage of beautiful fall days like today; however, the establishment should not allow the pace be that of a turtle (which by the way also made an appearance on the course). No one can stay in the moment while waiting for 7-10 minutes per hole......uugh, very frustrating. In all fairness, I will try this beautiful course again and hopefully the pace will be better. One of the highlights while sitting and waiting was watching an eagle dive into the water to catch a fish. Unfortunately, after four tries of dropping the fish, the eagle gave up and took a break in the overview of a multi-colored tree.

Beautiful course. When checking in we informed the nice lady at the register we were beginners and may let the group behind us play through. The course manager pushed back a few minutes later outside prior to even teeing off, that we were not to do that because it "messes things up" So by the 8th hole he came back and told us "we had to pick up the pace, the group in front of us was already on 10" So we skipped 9 only to find out now we were directly behind the group in front of us.We felt so rushed we skipped a hole and my wife barely played at all the back 9 and started playing best shot rather than individual scores. The group behind us was still right on top of us almost all day right to end. And literally rolling up behind us in carts and watching us. For 200$ and then spend more at the club house this was not a good experience for us. My wife literally doesn't want to play 18 anymore due to the way were treated, and the pressure applied to play faster rather than just let the super fast paced group behind us just play through. After finishing 18 we literally on top of the group in front of us, but the group behind us was still pushing up very aggressively. We will not be coming back. We did not feel welcome. Lots of dirty looks and just bad vibes from the others. 3 stars is being generous just because it is a beautiful course.
